In 2009, Jamie was just a single mom hustling and working long hours at her dads pest control company. When Jamie’s mom approached her with an opportunity to do makeup at the wedding venue she worked at, she was shocked.
Despite feeling like she had no idea what she was doing, she said yes to the opportunity. Shortly after, Jamie jumped headfirst into working weddings. The venue bought her an airbrush machine, she took a makeup course and showed up for her first wedding.
“After the first wedding, it was like a light bulb went off.”
There was hardly anyone offering hair and makeup that could go to multiple locations and they certainly didn’t want to do the business side of it. I fell in love with the idea of being a single mom that can work a couple days a week. I could make what I was making at my previous job and grow a business to make that opportunity available to other women.
